Per Irving City’s 2019 crime report, the city recorded a total of 6,599 index crimes, including 617 violent crimes and 5,982 property crimes. The department also collates and publishes a yearly report of index crime rates and statistics in Irving. Irving City Police Department generates records of all arrest events within the city. Per the Texas Freedom of Information Act, Irving public records may exist as paper documents, audiotapes, statistical tables and graphs, photographs, and documents in electronic formats, such as SMS and emails. This office does not maintain records such as zoning, permitting, site plans, developments, fire code violations or Certificate of Occupancy.The Texas Government Code Chapter 522 describes Irving public records as all digital or physical generated by government officials.
